VERSE 1:
This is my prayer in the desert
When all that’s within me feels dry
This is my prayer in my hunger and need
My God is the God who provides
VERSE 2:
This is my prayer in the fire
In weakness or trial or pain
There is a faith proved
Of more worth than gold
So refine me Lord through the flame
CHORUS:
I will bring praise
I will bring praise
No weapon formed against me shall remain
I will rejoice
I will declare
God is my victory and He is here
VERSE 3:
This is my prayer in the battle
When triumph is still on its way
I am a conqueror and co-heir with Christ
So firm on His promise I’ll st

Sue, I have Bipolar and my wife MS; we live with health problems all the time so appreciate your fear and difficulties. Here’s some thoughts:
God can seem remote, inactive and uncaring, but if we focus on Jesus (who, though divine, in his humanity suffered loss, fear, pain and bewilderment on the cross, but reached an acceptance of his situation saying ‘Into your hands I commit my spirit’), we can find a peace within ourselves. We become aware of his Spirit within us to give hope that, in eternal terms, all will be well, whatever happens now. We become able to trust that we’ll manage to cope.

Sue, I too have MS & live with disabling symptoms, so recognize & empathize with the scariness, your bewilderment & anger. When we lose something like our health it’s quite normal to be angry. Until we’ve worked through that over whatever time it takes, it’s difficult to find acceptance & peace. I believe God doesn’t ‘will’ our sufferings but gives us the strength & grace to come through them. In my experience, coming to a place of acceptance brings peace, & once you’ve found peace yourself you’ll be able to give it to others. I’ll continue to pray for you, for acceptance & peace. Bless you!

God said; Do not be afraid, I am with you always. Try to remember that Jesus is always beside you ; if you offer peace to someone you will surely be blessed yourself in some way. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Surely God would want to you to offer peace to others. It may not be a peace that you’re feeling yourself, but it will probably be done by you with a heartfelt hope that others will find the peace that you would so much like to feel. May we pray that God will continue to work to bring peace to you and your family?

I recently found an article about a woman with MS conquering Everest. The most inspiring quote of hers was this: ‘Life with MS can be very difficult at times, but it is often those very challenges that make us stronger. I have let go of fear and am living my dreams while I can. If I need to let go of some of the ‘physical’ dreams in the future, I will find new dreams to pursue’. Maybe God is encouraging you to do something today, or perhaps he is encouraging you to find new dreams. Isaiah 55:8 says ‘My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways.’ He has a plan for you.

I have multiple sclerosis which has very much accelerated over the last couple of years. I am wheelchair bound and slowly losing the use of my hands. I am terrified along with my husband and my family. I am so angry with God even though I love him and I know he’s holding me safely in the palm of his hand. I just cannot find any peace so I have found this passage very difficult. Looking at the challenge does this mean that I cannot offer peace to any people I may meet today. I am very confused and very sad.
