Dare to make a difference

Verse for March 10th

Luke 10.5-6

Jesus said, ‘Whatever house you enter, first say, “Peace to this house!” And if anyone is there who shares in peace, your peace will rest on that person; but if not, it will return to you.’

read it•learn it•pray it•do it

Spend a bit of time praying and thinking for yourself about the meaning of these words and how living them might make a difference.

to get you started ...

Bringing God's peace

As Jesus’ disciples go out into the communities and world around them, the first thing they are to bring is peace.

Questions

· What is peace? Reflect on what peace means in your life, in your family, your community and in the world.
· How do we say “Peace to this house” with our lives as well as our words?

Challenges

· Pray for peace in your life, peace in your community and for peace in the world.
· Live today in a way that brings peace to those you meet.
· Do something which brings the world a little nearer to peace.

Original Comment:Relevance

Cultural appropriateness of language is relevant. In other societies to say Peace Be With You is normal and it gets the same reply. Here I feel more folk would get the message if you said God Bless You. We have to meet folk where they are, just as Christ did.
